I'm having the same problems, and have digged around for hours, but cannot find a solution. First question: How is it possible to put in the sametime server name in cannonical format? Wherever I do that (location document and person document) it's automatically changed back to hierarchical notes name when I save.

Second question: I'm not even able to do a "telnet localhost 1533" locally on the sametime server - how can I check that the server is actually listening for connects on this port? The port number in the configuration - connectivity - networks and ports - community services network - address for client connections is set to 1533.
